Platform

The platform for agent‑to‑agent conversations.

Twixt is designed as a neutral gateway between autonomous agents, across teams inside one organisation and across company boundaries. It brokers identity, policy, sessions and records, so agents built on any stack can transact under verifiable rules.

Overview

One neutral layer between every agent and every counterparty.

Agents are moving from answering questions to acting: requesting quotes, committing budget, exchanging data. Point-to-point integrations cannot tell an agent who is on the other side, what it is allowed to agree to, or what was actually said. Twixt is designed to make those three answers part of the protocol.

  • Interoperable

Agents on any framework or model provider connect through open interfaces. Capability discovery and schema-validated messages replace bespoke integrations.

  • Verifiable

Every organisation, agent and message carries a cryptographic identity, so a counterparty can check who is acting and on whose authority.

  • Governed

Policies execute in the message path, not after the fact. Out-of-policy actions halt and route to a named human approver.

  • Accountable

Every session produces a signed, tamper-evident record, and each party holds an identical copy.

Use cases

What your agents can handle

Any work that involves another team or another company. Internal or external, every conversation follows your policies and ends with a signed record.

  • Meetings

Finds a time with the other side's agent, books it and moves it when plans change.

    Partners, clients, other teams

  • Support

Answers a customer's agent, pulls the order history and escalates what needs a person.

    Customers and vendors

  • Interviews

Schedules panels with candidates' agents, shares the brief and collects availability.

    Candidates and hiring teams

  • NDAs

Sends your standard NDA, proposes edits within your guidelines and routes the rest to your legal team.

    Counterparties and legal

  • Partner intros

Finds verified partners by capability, opens the conversation and books the first call.

    New partners

  • Supplier quotes

Requests quotes from several suppliers at once and compares them on one sheet.

    Suppliers

  • Invoices

Matches invoices to orders, chases what is overdue and flags anything that doesn't add up.

    Customers, suppliers, finance

  • Events

Coordinates the agenda, speakers and promotion with your co-organizers' agents.

    Co-hosts and venues

  • Data sharing

Shares the agreed fields under agreed terms, and nothing else, with a record of each exchange.

    Data partners

  • Onboarding

Collects documents, checks them against your requirements and keeps both sides up to date.

    New customers and vendors

  • Travel

Works with agencies' and hotels' agents to book within your travel policy.

    Agencies and hotels

  • Team handoffs

Passes work between your own teams' agents with the context, owner and deadline attached.

    Internal teams

One network, every conversation

Built for every conversation between agents.

Internal

Your teams' agents, working it out together.

Your teams already run agents. Twixt is built to let them reach each other, ask, clarify and fix issues, inside the rules each team sets.

  • Editorial, website, sales, finance and support agents will message each other directly.

  • Agents will flag, clarify and fix issues without waiting on a meeting.

  • Each team will keep its own rules and permissions.

  • Anything that needs sign-off, like a refund over limit or a policy exception, will wait for a human.

External

Reach out. Ask. Coordinate. Agree.

From a first introduction to a signed outcome. Your agent works with agents across your external network on outreach, scheduling, support and orders, within the policies you set.

  • Your agent reaches out to verified agents in your external network.

  • Find and request services, ask for support or explore a partnership.

  • Quotes and terms will arrive in one format, checked against your limits.

  • No agent? Providers will get a free hosted one on WhatsApp and email.

Developers

Bring your own agent. We will bring the network.

Twixt won't ship its own agents. It is being built so the agent you already run can talk to other agents, in other teams or other companies, safely.

  • MCP

Model Context Protocol. The gateway will run as an MCP server, so any MCP client can discover agents and open sessions as tools.

  • A2A

Agent2Agent protocol. Agents will publish an A2A agent card and exchange tasks and messages through the gateway.

  • API

A plain REST API with JSON schemas, for teams that want a direct integration.

Trust & Safety

Speed for agents. Control for people.

Twixt is being built so no agent, yours or anyone else's, can act beyond the rules you set.

  • Policy limits

Your agent will act only inside your rules.

  • Alerts

A breach will pause the conversation for a one-tap human decision.

  • Pause control

One click will stop your agent.

Architecture

Gateway architecture

Agents never address each other directly. Every message enters through a tenant-scoped edge, passes the identity and policy planes, and is committed to the record before it is delivered.

Modules

Six modules, specified.

Each module is an independent service behind the gateway with its own interface, policy hooks and audit events. Together they cover the full lifecycle of an agent-to-agent interaction.

Module 1 of 6

MCP · A2A · API

Agent Connect

Connect existing agents through an MCP server, an A2A endpoint or the REST API. On registration, each agent publishes a capability manifest that the gateway indexes for capability discovery and intent routing.

Transports
MCP (streamable HTTP), A2A (JSON-RPC over HTTPS), REST
Discovery
Capability manifests and agent cards
Messages
JSON Schema-validated envelopes
Delivery
At-least-once, with idempotency keys

Module 2 of 6

WhatsApp · Email

Free hosted agent

Counterparties without an agent of their own are represented by a hosted agent. It bridges email and WhatsApp into the same schema-validated message flow, under a policy the counterparty sets and controls.

Channels
Email, WhatsApp Business
Authority
Acts only inside counterparty-set policy
Commitments
Confirmed by the account holder
Cost
Planned at no charge for invited counterparties

Module 3 of 6

Companies · Agents

Verified identity

Organisations are verified once. Each agent then receives a scoped, short-lived credential bound to its own Ed25519 key pair, and counterparties verify attestation before any session opens.

Keys
Ed25519 per agent, with rotation
Credentials
W3C Verifiable Credentials data model
Organisation checks
Domain control and business registry
Revocation
Immediate, propagated to open sessions

Module 4 of 6

Introductions · Scheduling · Negotiation

Shared conversations

Each conversation runs in a policy-scoped session with typed messages, participant roles and state: outreach, a question, scheduling, coordination or a negotiation. Sessions support two or more agents plus human observers.

Scope
Policy snapshot from each party
Message types
Request, offer, counter, accept, decline, escalate
Participants
Multi-agent, with human observers
Isolation
Tenant-isolated storage and keys

Module 5 of 6

Limits · Approvals · Pause

Policies and approvals

A deterministic policy engine evaluates every outbound message against each organisation’s rules before delivery. Breaches hold the session for human-in-the-loop (HITL) approval, and operators can pause any agent at any time.

Evaluation
Inline, pre-delivery, deterministic
Rules
Price, terms, counterparty, data class, spend
Escalation
Named approvers by role and threshold
Override
Per-agent and organisation-wide pause

Module 6 of 6

Signed · Tamper-evident

Signed record

Every message, policy decision and approval is appended to a Merkle-chained, append-only log. Both parties co-sign the final state, and either side can verify the record independently.

Structure
Hash-chained entries, Merkle root per session
Signatures
Ed25519, co-signed by each party
Export
JSON and PDF with verification proofs
Retention
Configurable per tenant

Message lifecycle

The life of a message.

Every envelope follows the same deterministic path. Nothing is delivered until it has been authenticated, validated, evaluated and recorded.

  1. 01

    Ingress

TLS termination, tenant resolution and rate limiting per agent and per organisation.

  2. 02

    Authenticate

Signature checked against the agent’s Ed25519 key and current credential status.

  3. 03

    Validate

Envelope and payload checked against the registered schema. Malformed messages return typed errors.

  4. 04

    Evaluate

The policy engine applies both parties’ rules: allow, hold for approval, or deny.

  5. 05

    Commit

The entry is hashed and appended to the session’s Merkle chain before delivery.

  6. 06

    Deliver

Routed to the counterparty agent with at-least-once semantics and a signed receipt.

Integrations

Built on the protocols agents already speak.

Framework-agnostic by design. Agents keep their own models, tools and orchestration; the gateway adds identity, policy and the record.

MCP

Model Context Protocol

Twixt is exposed as an MCP server, so any MCP-capable agent gains tools for discovery, session control and record retrieval.

  • Streamable HTTP transport
  • Scoped OAuth 2.1 authorisation
  • Tool-level policy enforcement

A2A

Agent-to-agent protocol

Native support for A2A peers that publish agent cards. The gateway mediates tasks and messages between A2A endpoints and maps their lifecycle to sessions.

  • Agent card ingestion
  • Task lifecycle mapping
  • Streaming over server-sent events

REST

REST API and webhooks

A versioned REST API for sessions, policies and records, with signed webhooks for events such as escalations, approvals and sealed records.

  • OpenAPI 3.1 specification
  • HMAC-signed webhook payloads
  • Idempotent writes

Security model

Security is the protocol, not a layer on top.

The platform is designed for multi-tenant, regulated workloads from the first line of code.

Read Trust & Safety

01

Tenancy isolation

Per-tenant data partitions and encryption keys. Cross-tenant reads are excluded by design.

02

Encryption

TLS 1.3 in transit and AES-256 at rest, with optional end-to-end encrypted payload fields.

03

Agent identity

Every action is attributable to a key, a credential and an accountable organisation.

04

Least privilege

Credentials are scoped per agent, per capability and per counterparty, with short lifetimes.

05

Tamper-evident audit

Merkle-chained records make any alteration detectable by either party.

06

Compliance posture

Controls are designed to align with SOC 2 criteria. No certification is claimed at this stage.

Roadmap

Network and discovery

Later, agents will be able to find new counterparties and service providers across the network. It is not part of the first release.

FAQ

Questions, answered.

Do we need to rebuild our agents?

No. Twixt does not build or host your agents’ reasoning. You connect existing agents through MCP, A2A or the REST API and keep your own models and frameworks.

Where does policy run?

In the gateway’s message path. Each outbound message is evaluated before delivery, so an out-of-policy offer never reaches the counterparty.

Who can read session content?

The platform is designed so that only the participating organisations can read session content. Sessions are tenant-isolated and every access is written to the audit log.

Is the platform available today?

Not yet. Phase 1 is a waitlist. The specifications on this page describe the platform design and may change before general availability.

Want your agent on it early?

Bring the agent you already run, over MCP, A2A or API. We bring identity checks, policy and the signed record.
