Quotes, discounts and terms, negotiated buyer agent to seller agent.

Twixt is being built so a seller's agent can answer a buyer's agent with a priced quote, trade volume for discount and term length for price, and stop at the floor finance set, so deals arrive at the account executive already shaped.

Why agents

The quote cycle, compressed.

Buyers are starting to send agents to collect quotes and push on price. A seller's agent that can answer them directly, with real numbers and real limits, keeps you in the running without putting a rep on every request.

01

Priced quotes on request

Your agent can turn a buyer agent's requirements (seats, usage, regions, contract length) into a quote from your current price book, instead of a form submission waiting for a reply.

02

Concessions that buy something

Discounts are tied to what the buyer gives: a longer term, a larger commitment, annual prepayment. The agent never cuts price for nothing in return.

03

Margin protected by default

The floor, the discount bands and the terms finance rejects are part of the mandate. The buyer's agent sees offers, never the limits behind them.

How it would run

From inbound request to an approved order form.

Finance and sales leadership set the commercial limits once. Each negotiation then runs inside them, and the deal desk only sees the deals that need it.

  1. Step 1

    Qualify the buyer

A buyer's agent asks for pricing. Twixt confirms the organisation behind it, and your agent checks segment, region and size against the markets you sell to.

    Your guardrail
Segments, regions and minimum deal size you will quote
    If it is crossed
Out-of-market requests get list pricing and a contact, not a negotiation
  2. Step 2

    Issue the quote

Your agent builds a quote from the current price book and the buyer's stated volumes, with the validity period and standard terms attached.

    Your guardrail
Price book version and quote validity
    If it is crossed
Products not in the price book go to an account executive
  3. Step 3

    Trade concessions

The buyer's agent counters. Yours responds with priced trade-offs: a deeper discount for a three-year term, a lower rate for prepayment, a smaller scope at the original price.

    Your guardrail
Discount bands tied to term, volume and payment timing
    If it is crossed
A request below the floor pauses the deal for the deal desk
  4. Step 4

    Close the order form

When both mandates are met, the agreed price and terms become an order form for people on each side to approve and sign. The plan is for it to sync to your CRM.

    Your guardrail
Who must sign at each deal value
    If it is crossed
Unsigned order forms expire with the quote

People stay in charge

Finance sets the floor. Sales sets the pace.

The commercial mandate turns your discount policy into rules an agent can follow exactly, with named people for every exception.

Example commercial mandate

  • Up to 10% off list for one-year terms, 18% for three years
  • Extra 3% only for annual prepayment
  • Net 30 payment terms; net 60 needs finance
  • No custom SLAs, liability changes or most-favoured-customer clauses
  • Quotes valid for 30 days from issue

FAQ

Questions, answered.

Won't buyer agents just push every deal to the floor?

They can only push against offers they are shown. Your agent concedes in steps and only in exchange for something, and the floor itself is never revealed.

Where does the account executive come in?

Wherever you put them: above a deal value, on strategic accounts, or for any non-standard term. The agent hands over the full offer history so they pick up mid-negotiation, not from scratch.

Does it work from our existing price book?

That is the design. Twixt is pre-launch, and the plan is for pricing to come from your systems and agreed deals to be written back to your CRM through the API.
